“Free Up” Artist Gives Back to the Community

(Correspondent News)– On Saturday, August 26th, indie recording artist Gordon Andres will be hosting the First Annual “Back to School Jam” at PS 273 Wortman School from 1 1 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event will be held at 923 Jerome St. Brooklyn, N.Y. 11207. Music will be provided by DJ Tisa and DJ Scenario. There will be live musical performances by Rich Lugar, Reeup, Monk, Big East, Glit Girls, FlyBoi Dada, ElijahXIII, and Gordon Andres himself.

The event is sponsored by Make It Happen Mitch, Legendary Entertainment and Legendary Kings AC. The “Back to School Jam” will have fun activities like bouncy houses, face painting, school supplies and music for the whole family to enjoy. There will also be a book bag giveaway.

The “Free Up” star loves to give back to his community. Last December, Andres spent his birthday giving out toys to the kids at his old elementary school PS 273, also where the “Back to School Jam” will be held. His efforts gained the attention of News 12 Brooklyn.

Andres told reporter Katie Lusso, “Coming back and giving back is always important because there is someone else that always needs it.”This week, Andres’ did the Electric Slide with a group of adults at a nursing home. “Some things are just priceless. The joy on their faces that the strength they have is unheard of,” he said.

When reflecting on the organization of the “Back to School Jam,” the Guyanese artist said, “Every little thing counts any little bit that you can do for someone. “If you would like to perform at the “Back to School Jam” or know someone who does, please contact Gordon.

He is also still accepting donations for school supplies and book bags.
